The Triumph Returns

Well it is back. The 1960 TR3 has returned home. It was gone for a couple of years to make some room int the garage and also to get it running again. It needed some steering work done and is now back home.

We have been doing a lot of cleaning and fixing some small things. This is not going to be a full blown restoration but rather a fix it up so that it can run and be a fun car to drive again.

So far, since it has been home, the steering that it was sent away for has leaked. We had the toughest time trying to get the front bonnet off so that we could get a look at the steering box.

It took about a week or two and a grinder but we managed to get it off and got to the steering box. The steering box is a bishop steering box and the seals were all shot. We got the seal kit and installed that and had the steering box put back in.

Now we have the front bonnet off to paint. We are keeping the car the color that it is now which is signal red. The car has a very colorful past being red then green then white then green and now finally red again. We have also sent with the front bonnet the side valances for the Morgan that we are restoring but you will have to go to morgancarsengland.blogspot.com to see that update.

So for the most part you are very well caught up to speed with the progress of our TR3. More updates to come as we progress.

P.S. The radiator has been sent off to fix the cracks and leaks so that should be coming so look for that update soon.
